Sarah's
Diehards
This application requires Java support in your browser. The easiest way to chat at Sarah's is to use the Java based chat window below but you can also use an IRC client such as mIRC. Click right here for directions on how to set up mIRC to get into Sarah's Diehards.
Drop by Sarah's in the evenings beginning about 8 o'clock (ET) for some fun conversation with some really nice Mayberry folk. Any other time, check in here and at Sarah's for the chance that one of your Mayberry friends might be visiting.
USING JAVA
CONFERENCE
ROOM:
First you need to change your "nickname" to something you'd like. When you first enter the room, you'll
show up as "TownsPerson???" where ??? is replaced by a number. After
you type in your nickname, you can chat. Please
keep in mind that this is a LARGE network of chatrooms so the
"nickname"
you choose could already be being used by someone on the network.
If so, just keep trying new names until it lets you keep one.
Another way to change your nickname is to type the following:
/nick
<nickname> (i.e. /nick MrMayberry)
You'll see a multi-colored set of boxes at the bottom right side of the chat screen. Just to the left of that is where you type in your comments. Just hit your "Return" button to send your comments to the room.
When you're finished chatting click "Disconnect" (or type "/part" and hit return) to be logged out of the room.
COLORS:
Those colored boxes will let you talk with colored text. Just right-click a
"color" then type your text. Your font will be in that color.
If you right-click "yellow" then left-click "blue" the text you type will be yellow and the background will appear as blue. Any color combination will work.
BOLD:
To type with BOLD letters, hold your Ctrl key while pressing "B" on
your keyboard. The following text will be bold.
