Bernard Fox Interview 26 June 1998

This interview with Bernard "Malcolm Merriweather" Fox was taped the day before the Mayberry in Meadowview event held in Kingsport, TN on June 27, 1998. Bernard is best remembered as Dr. Bombay on Bewitched but fans of The Andy Griffith Show remember him as bicycle riding "Englishter" Malcolm Merriweather. During the interview you will hear Howard "Ernest T. Bass" Morris interupting us a couple of times. It seems that even today, Ernest T. might think that Malcolm is stealing his job as crossing guard. (Actually, I had just finished interviewing Mr. Morris and he was still standing around listening to me try and interview Bernard.) Mr. Fox is one of the most entertaining men I have ever had the chance to sit and visit with.--Allan Newsome
